Article Marketing - Secrets of Titles That Sell

One of the most important aspects of your article marketing, is your titles. Titles pull people in. Titles make people take notice. Without a decent title - you're screwed . It's a good idea to start your title by summing up the whole article. For example rather than -

The Secrets of Quickly Learning Disco Dancing.

It would be much more effective to use:

Disco Dancing - 7 Speedy Secrets Exposed.

This way when someone searched "disco dancing" they will find your article easier. You also want to make your article title catchy. It is a good idea to use numbers, such as:

  • Lose Weight Fast - 6 Key Secrets for Maximum Weight Loss

It shows people that the article will be concise. People don't want to spend all day reading your article. You want to pull them in, so by using words such as "secrets", "key" and "exposed" it will make people think they are getting something special, which they will be with the information you provide them with. Also, remember to Keep It Short and Concise . The title simply draws people in, it does not have to explain everything the article will cover.

Monitor which articles are clicked on more than others, by keeping an eye on your stats. This will help you see which articles have the most successful titles and which topics are most popular.

Keep at it. With all aspects of article writing, thinking of creative and effective titles becomes easier with time. It is possible to succeed, as long as you don't give up to quickly.

Article Marketing - How To Make Money

Selling articles is a type of advertising that is now universal and trendy among online businesses. Firms have been created solely to provide unique articles with unique content for web pages as a method for their promotion.

Article marketing has encouraged the writers by providing them to display their articles for free. Due to this, we find article directories having long lists of free articles which may be helpful to the viewers to get information they want and to the website by increasing its viewers. Some sites offer their own articles only so as to keep their content in limit.

An important feature of article marketing is SEO targeting by using specific key words. Articles will be germane to the overall content of a website but will be loaded with certain words and phrases to make web crawler programs detect them and lead those who search the terms to see the page on a results page and then to visit the site.

Some articles contain misspelled words and poorly-worded phrases to ensure uniqueness and to bring searches who misspell words to the sites. This brings traffic, but many visitors may be unlikely to stay on a page with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. They may assume any product is as bad as the spelling.

Article marketing can provide you with revenue in several ways. The primary source of profit is by linking to sites to generate traffic from visitors, to sell products online, or to provide in some other way for the needs of those who are intrigued by the articles and drawn to the site. You can also offer your articles to other website owners, and tailor the articles to their needs.

Some site owners think that generating traffic is everything, even though they make little money if no one buys their services or clicks on ads. High quality articles are important because they encourage visitors to stay longer when they visit and to make return visits. They generally give your site a professional atmosphere that encourages visitors to purchase your goods or services. Good articles are worth the extra expense.

Those with writing skills can of course create their own copy, but many people prefer ghost written articles commissioned from professional writers. Some recruit individuals and others utilize online sites where articles may be solicited and purchased. These are then placed in directories and sites but will be credited to the purchaser, not the actual author.

Keyword Bidding Explained

Keyword bidding is closely related to pay-per-click advertising. The major ppc advertisers out there are Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and Microsoft AdCenter. Here are some interesting facts about keyword bidding.

Keyword Bidding Fact # 1

One of the undeniable facts when it comes to the most popular ppc engine would be the undefeated Google Adwords. Advertise in Google Adwords properly, and you will see your online business skyrocket. This is simply because the majority of search engine users use google and the traffic that it pulls in are targeted.

Keyword Bidding Fact # 2

If you plan to use google Adwords you must know the three types of matches in your keywords. Knowing the differences in the match type will help you manage your keyword bidding more efficiently. The three match types are the [exact matches], phrase matches and broad matches. For example, if you bid for an exact match keyword [keyword bidding] your advertisement will only be shown when someone types in the search "keyword bidding" and not "bids methods for keywords". If you bid for an phrase match "keyword bidding" and matches "keyword bidding tools", but not "tools for keyword", and, finally, a broad match for keyword bidding will match the search of any keywords in any order.

Keyword Bidding Fact # 3

To achieve success with keyword bidding, you will need to know about click through rate which is also known as CTR. Google tracks the number of click through compared to the number of impression for your ad. Basically, if your ad or keyword has a high click through rate, you will be rewarded with a higher ad position and also reduces the cost of your clicks. It is crucial for you to consistently improve your click through rate if you are thinking of starting your own keyword bidding campaign.

Keyword Bidding Fact # 4

One of the ways to improve your CTR is to write a good ad for your keyword bidding campaign. One of the key notes of writing a good ad is that your ad must be able to attract the attention of searchers. Grab their attention with a good headline and tell them the benefits they will get if they click your ad. There is also other Adwords tactic.

Keyword Bidding Fact # 5

To become successful with keyword bidding, you will first need to learn how to analyze keywords and build a good keywords list. This process can proof to be a very tedious task. Web Content (Mass + Keywords) + Links = SEO

Of course, the whole goal of the search engines' ranking schemes is precisely to deliver good, relevant content to users. The mechanism for how search engines select and reward good, relevant content is essentially just a technical issue, though admittedly an extremely important technical issue.

But even in purely technical, mechanistic, terms, web content affects search engine rankings three ways:

1. inbound links

2. website mass

3. keyword optimization

1. Web Content and Inbound Links

Inbound links are the number-one factor in getting search engine rankings. They also yield plenty of traffic on their own. The importance of links is what has led many people to say that content is no longer important. But those people forget that content really does play a big role in getting links in the first place:

* At the very least, good content will make potential link partners more comfortable with linking to your site. No one wants to link to a link farm, splog, junk site, or even just an unprofessional-looking site.

* Lots of good content gives other webmasters (and particularly bloggers) a reason to link to your site spontaneously without being asked.

* You can allow other websites to post your content in exchange for a link back to your site.

2. Web Content Mass

More web pages of content = more search engine traffic

Heres why:

1. Adding pages to your site is like putting out extra nets to catch surfers.

2. Search engines see bigger websites as more prestigious and reliable.

3. The more content you have, the more reasons you give other webmasters, particularly bloggers, to link to your site spontaneously, without being asked.

3. Web Content Keyword Optimization

Keyword optimization used to be the most important step in SEO. Now it matters little in ranking for highly competitive keywords.

Still, keyword optimization can really help you get traffic from searches not on competitive keywords. While you may never rank number 1 for "finance," you may still show up tops for a search on "household finance rent federal tax deductions" if you have that phrase somewhere in your content. Such non-competitive searches make up a very large proportion of total web searches.

Web Content Keyword Optimization Checklist:

There are four legs to keyword optimization:

* Research/selection

* Density

* Prominence

* Stemming/Variation

Keyword Research and Selection

You need to identify keywords searched on by your target audience. Use tools such as those offered by WordTracker and Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly Overture).

There are two big pitfalls to avoid:

* "Negative keywords" that look relevant but are not really searched on by your target market. For instance, "website copy" is a synonym for "website content," but most people searching on "website copy" are looking for software that copies an entire website to the hard drive for offline browsing.

* Impossibly competitive keywords that you have no realistic chance of ranking high for them. How do you know if a keyword is impossibly competitive? One rough measure is to look at the PageRank of the webpages currently ranking in the top three for that keyword. If the PageRank of those pages is much higher than the PageRank your site will likely have in the future, you will probably never outrank those pages.

A pay-per-click campaign with Google Adwords of Yahoo! Search Marketing will help you to find which keywords really are searched on by your target audience.

Keyword Density

Keywords appear in the content the right number of times for search engines to recognize the page as relevant, but not so often that it looks like keyword stuffing. The longer the content, the more times the keyword should appear.

Keyword Prominence

Keywords appear in just the right positions within your web pages for search engines to recognize them as relevant. The page title, headings, and first lines of the page are often considered the most prominent positions.

Keyword Stemming/Keyword Variation

* Using variations of the keyword will help ensure web pages appear relevant to the next generation of more sophisticated search engine algorithms.

* In the meantime, variations of popular keywords helps your site appear for the "non-standard" searches on variations of the keyword.

There are three main types of keyword variations:

* Word-stem variations. A stem of a word is its base. For instance, "optimize" is the stem of "optimized." Other stem variations of "optimize" include "optimizing," "optimizer," and "optimization." You can also shuffle the component words of multiple-word keywords. Variations of website content would be web site content, web content, content for websites, and site content).

* Synonyms (such as web page content, internet content, or writing for the web for website content).

* Related terms (such as internet, SEO or web page).

For many people, the SEO side of content feels like a moot point. You need content for your visitors even if no search engine spider ever notices. But every website budget, both of money and time, is finite. If you're ever choosing whether to invest in another link to please search engines or another page of content to please your visitors, don't forget: search engines still like content, too.

Article Marketing - How to Use Article Marketing to Get Prospects to Come to You

The way I do it is with article marketing combined with list building. Now, the beautiful thing about article marketing, is that I don't have to go where they hang out. All I have to do is write articles that make sense to them. Upload them to the article directories, and then the article directories because of their own high search engine ranking ability, their high pay rank, the article directories themselves will get my articles where people hang out.

Not necessarily where people hang out but where people look. So for example if somebody's looking for information about natural health, let's say somebody's looking for information about natural health, I'm into natural health. Well, I can go about this 2 different ways, number 1 I can go hang out on all the natural health forums and the natural health blogs, and all of that. I can kind of hope I can pick up some visitors. Or I can write natural health articles, I can submit them to the online article directories.

The online article directories have the page rank to get me ranked high in the search engines, and then what happens is when somebody goes in and they search for a term like natural health or alternative health or natural health for my knee, or whatever they're thinking about, natural health, for example, then my article is going to come up really really high. So I'm not going to necessarily get them where they hang out, but I'm going to get them when they're looking for information.

Niche Dissection - The Anatomy

Okay, you've taken your list of interests, you've picked one item on that list and you've narrowed it down to a very specific keyword phrase. In this example, I decided to go with the more narrowed keyword phrase "Alternative Treatments For Acne."

Let's see what our demand and competition is.

How do we do this?

Well, the competition is easy. Just go to Google and type in, with the quotes YOUR keyword phrase. I'll type in mine.

I get 37,000 sites coming up with that keyword phrase. Okay, not too bad. Now, let's see how many monthly searches we get. To do this, go to a keyword suggestion tool and type in the same phrase.

I use many. Here's one of them - www.wordtracker.com (you can use the trial version)

It's not the easiest tool to use but with Overture now gone, outside of paid tools, there's not a lot out there that even works anymore. Now, the tool will also give you alternative keyword phrases, because not everybody is going type in YOUR phrase. Wordtracker will give you a decent list.

Okay, type in your keyword phrase, again with the quotes, and see how many monthly searches you get.

In my case, not too good. My original phrase only got 2 monthly searches. And even the best word in my list, "Acne" only got 1688 monthly searches and it's not very targeted. What I mean by targeted is this.

Does everybody who types in acne into a search engine want an alternative treatment? Some may simply be looking up what causes it. That's why you want your target phrase to be as specific as possible.

So let's see what we have 1688 searches for a non targeted phrase and over 37,000 sites to go up against. I don't know about you but I don't like those odds. Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't pursue this, but if you do, I just want you to understand what you're going to be up against. It will be an uphill battle.

Ideally, you want to find a keyword phrase where you have about 1000 - 2000 competing sites and about 5,000 to 10,000 searches a month. Believe it or not, these ratios exist. They're not easy to find but they do exist. And when you latch onto a niche with very little competition and a good number of monthly searches, you've basically found yourself a goldmine. The key is cashing in on it.

Just keep repeating the above process until you find a niche that you are happy with. It may take some time, but it's time well spent.

How A Good Keyword Inspires Connection - A Soft Sell Point of View

What's the purpose of a keyword?

Technically a keyword is used to find useful results in an Internet search. Type in your keyword and the search engine returns a list of sites where that word is found.

And to be even more technical, a keyword (or any word for that matter) is a combination of 1s and 0s that allows a message to be transmitted across the web to your computer or vice versa..

Just to be clear - a keyword can be one word - for example "insurance " - or a keyword can be a string of words (known as a long tail keyword) - for example "honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean." Both are referred to with the singular "keyword.."

Because the Internet is fundamentally a text based medium, words are the basic tool everyone uses to travel and navigate the web.

Even with the onset of audio and video, search engine spyders cannot read anything but text. So no matter how impressive a site may appear to be, the spyders read only words and that's why keywords are so important.

Okay, that's the head side of a keyword. What about the heart side?

As a marketer, what are you doing - really doing - when you're searching out the best keywords to place in an online ad, or build a sales page, or write an article?

Ultimately you're trying to connect with the heart of your potential buyer, your ideal customer - right?

In fact, think about yourself for a moment.

Bring to mind a time when you searched online for something you really wanted, something significant that you searched for and found.

What were you thinking and feeling when you searched for the right place to get what you needed or wanted?

Oh sure, you might have thought about the money - how much or how little. Maybe you were concerned about the brand name - Nike, Ben and Jerry's, or Pontiac. And location might have been a factor - made in the U.S.A or made in China.

But none of that really, really, really mattered did it?

Because there were deeper thoughts and feelings that were driving you to search - weren't there?

And it's those deeper thoughts that contained the keywords that were specific to you and your desire.

And more deeply, what about what you were feeling? How did your feelings color your thoughts?

And - when it came to what you typed into the search bar - what specific words did you use to describe your particular need, your specific feeling of need?

You may have been excited with the anticipation of pleasure and your feelings and thoughts followed.

You may have been in pain and were desperate to find a way out. That certainly would have generated a different kind of feeling state and the thoughts that matched.

Now, imagine if someone marketing exactly what you were looking for had understood what you were feeling and thinking and chose keywords that matched your experience. Wouldn't there have been an instant connection?

Yes, of course!

You would have made your purchase with ease and comfort and relief knowing you'd found the right place.

That's the real power of keywords. They make a connection. They are the first moment in the building of a relationship.

Not just 1s and 0s, but the grounds for an identification between marketer and searcher. A sense of - "You know who I am. You know what I'm going through." That's far more than just technical. It's a deeply personal and felt connection.

Keywords ARE personal. Very personal. They are the doorway into the mind and heart of your prospective customer. They are the touchpoint between two people - one with a problem needing to be solved or a desire to be fulfilled and the other with the solution.

And this month you can meet a true keywords magician, Greg Cesar. We Must Stamp Out the Crappy Articles for More Serious Online Article Content

More than one online article author has said that on the Internet in online article submission websites there are some really "crappy articles" out there. This is their direct words in describing less than acceptable content. Of course there are also some really good "serious" online articles too, so let's not jump to too many conclusions here.

Myself, I have written thin content articles for the pop culture crowd with little if any real substance and I have written some very serious articles as well. Yet, I totally see it too and understand the dilemma myself since I often write some of both types of articles. But if this is a push-pull thing then perhaps there should be two websites for each top online article submission website?

One for "trite" articles and one for serious articles, with a section for full-on "white papers" or borderline "research papers" with serious eBooks available splitting sales with authors?

It seems that those who write the better more serious articles would have a thing or two to say about the garbage articles, I cannot blame them and have complained myself. Of course like most, I have adjusted my content downward slightly to:

A.) fit in and;

B.) meet the expectations of the Internet Surfers who are shallow often in their thought processes.

Then there is the issue of quality such as punctuation, spelling and sentence structure. Indeed, I myself have worked hard to watch the spelling etc, and make sure to bring one decent point at least to the reader in every article.

The endless "get rich quick" or "Get a Date" articles are prolific, but not just on the top online submission websites, actually all over the Internet. Apparently because people like them, that is the average populi or teenager surfer. They are humans and that is what the masses are, happy humans doing their thing, procreating more of the same?

You know there is a market for serious articles and excellent content, I am a reader who likes the good stuff, but realize if you write for that market, that yiu are writing to 5-10% of the population and the other 90-95% seems to enjoy at least some of the fluff, BS articles and 50% just love them?

Article Marketing - 6 Robust Tips to an Explosive Article Marketing

If you are wondering how successful article marketers are able to achieve the peak of success that they are enjoying now, well, wonder no more, because I have explicitly written below the six robust and strong tips towards having explosive article marketing:

1. Pack your articles with useful, relevant information. Coat every corner of your article material with information that is useful and reliable. After all, the reason why people are going into the net is to capture high quality information.

2. Make every your articles short and compacted but meaningful and meaty. You do not want to be wasting your potential reader's time with the verbosity of your article materials. Time is definitely important to your potential readers and the way to address this properly is giving them lesser time to catch the information they want.

3. Entice your readers with a very appealing placement of potential benefits that they can get right on your article title. Since most readers take a look at the title first before getting into the real content, then it is on the title that you can potentially hit the interest of the readers.

4. Create a good sense of distributing and publishing these articles on websites. You can opt at having these articles published on your website or have them published on someone else's site. Most sites accept and welcome article contribution. It is up to you to decide where you want these posted.

5. You can also opt at having these articles be seen on popular article publishing sites. The more you publish the better it is going to be for you and your website.

6. Capitalize on your chance to be popularly seen and accessed by joining and participating in some of the discussion and message boards. You can post your articles as replies to other forum members' inquiry or suggestions.

Explode Your Work At Home Internet Business Traffic By Using The Right Keyword Research Techniques

We tend to be fixated to our earlier ideas, so we rather go the familiar routes and are not eager to find new creative keywords for our work at home internet business. That is a pity, because the old thinking brings the old results and the keyword market changes all the time.

The right angle to think your work at home internet business keywords is the consumer angle, to try to think like the prospective does but in the way which supports your business plan. It is not so simple to judge what search terms the searchers type, when they try to find information about your business topic.

One quick example from the world of the work at home internet business: most often we try to sell the benefits of our program to the prospects, like the amount of income etc. But should we in stead present conditions, that exist in the prospects life, that cause them to search the Net.

The natural way to find keywords is guessing, i.e. we try to guess again and again which keywords the searchers are using, and the result is most obviously the same as earlier. But we should use methods, which bring us results about the searchers real behaviour.

Now the key is to find work at home internet business keywords, which describe well your topic and the website nature and are so called low competition keywords. Optimizing your website along these keywords, it is possible to rank high in the search result pages and to grab most of the traffic. You see, being number one or two on these pages gives you more traffic than being number 15 on the high demand page.

Often these kind of work at home internet business keywords are so called long tail keywords or keyphrases, which target the offer better than the high demand search terms. When the page rank depends mostly on the amount of backlinks, they are not needed so many with the long tail search phrases.

The two key issues are the amount of competition and the sharp targeting, i.e. how well the search term focuses to the topic and nature of the landing page. The typing errors can be very useful as keywords, because many internet business marketers do not use them, because of the error.

It is useful to expand the scope of thinking and try to figure out the many reasons, why a prospect wants the work at home internet business, which you offer: income, freedom, self-esteem, social respect, success, image etc. A well working website has the answer to these several needs and handles the topic from many angles. The truth is that the searchers search information using lots of keywords.

The more information you have on your website about the various aspects of your theme, the more you will give to the people and the more keywords you need in order to fulfil the needs of the different searchers. This is important: do the keyword research regularly and use lots of work at home internet business keywords, so you will grab more searchers from the huge flow of the Net searches.

Too many work at home internet business websites do not widen their scope, but use the most obvious keywords again and again and will get the same results. And, this is the worst, they try to climb the search engine results pages, which have too heavy competition. It is a mission impossible.

Effective marketing steps out from the traditional box and does not talk only about the product, but about the prospects life. It is important to understand the benefits of the wideness of the prospects needs: it is not only earnings or some other one term, but a wide sortiment of needs, both rational and emotional, which determine the search term the searcher will use.

After the searcher has landed to your work at home internet business page, he is able to do the choices, i.e. which information he will pick. When you will research this wider need sortiment of the prospects, you will find keywords, which bring lots of good traffic and are longer lasting, i.e. the page rank will stand longer and do not need so many new backlinks all the time.

Now you see that the question is about the behaviour of the prospect, which is much wider topic than just the product you offer. This new angle has a great influence on your results, because the target group will feel that you know their needs in depth and they will respond better to your work at home internet business offers.

Switch to your prospects point of view instead of your own and you will find a totally new world and also understand better the benefits and the reasons, why the searchers search the information about your topic. You have to stop finding keywords, try to find needs in stead, because they will describe better the real reasons for the searches. This you can reach by typing, not keywords, but sentences into the keyword research toolbar. Be creative and a little bit foolish and that will open new paths to your work at home internet business. And remember that the rich, fresh content is the king.

Article Marketing - How to Make It Work For You

Information based marketing is one of the oldest and most effective techniques for bringing targeted prospects to your site and converting them into buyers. This is part of the reason that software, and distribution services that make the process of article promotion easier are so popular lately.

Though the various tools you can use to make the process of distributing your articles more easily are invaluable in getting your content the most exposure, thats only half of the story.

Getting article marketing to work for your site lies primarily in two things:

The article youre submitting, and
The preparation you do before a single word of your content is written.

Since those two determining factors make at least 50% of the difference in bringing you success, lets take a look at what the most common mistakes are in that area, and how to overcome them.

Mistake Number 1 - Confusing the Reason to Promote with Articles with the Reason to Write an Article

There are three key benefits to promoting an article - branding, lead generation, and as a corollary, online promotion, particularly as part of your optimization efforts.

Yet there is only one reason to write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If your article is not geared towards this as its primary purpose, you will fail to see the three benefits of promotion - because no one will want to read your article.

How many links youre able to generate by submitting your article to hundreds of sites will matter little if youre unable to get them picked up by publications, or read by people who search for information.

Sure, if you know what youre doing all those links pointing back to your site will count for something in your search engine results - but remember that generating links to your site is only one part of optimizing your site for Google, Yahoo or MSN.

To overcome this issue, youll need to figure out how to get people to read what is in your article, and then click through to your site from your resource box. The best start to a solution is to produce better content.

In the end its a matter of choice. You can get a little exposure from increased link backs, on a very basic level, or enjoy massive exposure from a little extra work.

Mistake Number 2 - Starting The Article Promotion without a Plan

Not every article can fulfil all three purposes of promotion. Some will work better for branding, others can generate leads and increase sales. But if you dont start out with a plan for what the function of your article should be, youll end up unhappy with the results.

To overcome this issue, before you write a single word, decide what purpose the article is supposed to serve. An article meant to brand you as an expert should display your knowledge. One for generating leads may need to be geared towards solving a very specific problem.

An article that gets published every where and helps to make you known is not meant to have the same level of exposure as hyper-targeted content geared towards a narrow group of people. Learning the difference will help you know what kinds of articles to write.

Mistake Number 3- Publishing Content That Doesnt Help Your Reader

Maybe youre thinking: All I want is links back to my site - any visitors the article generates is gravy.

Well guess what? Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically. You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories want to share with readers. And all it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience tenfold.

So if you want article marketing to work for you, write articles that publishers want in their publications.

This also means obeying the standard guidelines, running a spell check, researching a good topic to write about, or even hiring a writer to produce articles on your behalf.

Mistake Number 4 - Failing to Maximize the Promotional Opportunities of Article Marketing

You already know that articles marketing can help you generate additional links back to your site. But did you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from articles in a variety of ways?

You can mention your desired keyword in strategic places, though you should take care not to overdo this. Some people will also tell you to make use of anchor text, which can also be an effective method. However, you should know that the majority of directories and publications arent able to support this.

There are alternatives to this method that are just as effective, if not more so, but they require more space to explain.

Its not just about the links back to your site either. Part of doing well with article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with large audiences, or gaining the ability to leverage other brands due to the quality of your work.

Better search engine results are great.

But by themselves they dont put money in your pocket - there are a myriad of factors that can turn your article marketing efforts into an opportunity to increase your income, not just the number of visitors to your site.

Article Marketing Vs Traditional Methods Of Internet Advertising

In this article I would like to compare article marketing with other methods of internet advertising. The main reason for this is that traffic is the lifeblood of your internet business. Without traffic you cannot succeed.

Article marketing is my favourite form of generating traffic to my website. The main reason for this is that it is free. So I do not have to spend any money and whatever I money I make it is complete profit.

However, it is wise to always diversify your strategies. If for some reason one of your strategies is not working then you have a few others that will be and generating income for you.

I am a full time internet marketer so running my business is a very serious thing. If it is not generating money then I will not have money to buy food.

Originally I built my business with free advertising like search engines and article marketing. Now I have started marketing using safelists, co-registration, ppc and email marketing.

Each method takes a lot of work to get it to work. You need to track and test everything so that you maximize your earning. However, once you get one method to work you continually do it to grow your business and focus on the next.

This is the plan of action I suggest that you take. Use article marketing as a strong base. It will get you good search engine rankings and build your credibility as an expert in your specific niche market. Also as your articles become viral you will get traffic from many different sources. As you start making money reinvest a large part of those profits that you are making into paid advertising. So that one day if there is a big algorithm change on search engines you will not go out of business.

Article Submission Secrets - 4 Things to Never Ever Do in the Resource Box of Your Articles

Here are 4 things to never ever do in your article resource box.

1. Don't put your phone number in there, and don't put your email address in there. If they want to contact you, get them back to your website or your blog, where they can email you or contact you.

2. The second thing not to do - and this sounds crazy, folks, but I've read articles where they've written about let's say gardening, and the resource box has invited them back to their race car site. I'm making up those categories, but the examples were as disparate as that. That makes no sense at all. Don't do that.

3. The other thing I've seen people do is put in what I call diverse domains in their resource box. You're allowed three active links back to your website or blog. If you've got multiple niches, fine, if you can handle them all. I've found over the last couple years that my business grew as I narrowed from multiple niches into one niche in article marketing.

Let's say you've got a niche in relationships and you're also an expert on civil war history, and you've written an article on relationships and there's a link in your resource box to your relationship site, but then you also throw one in there to your site on civil war trivia.

Huh? I guess that might be connected if you want to call some relationships a civil war, but basically those would be called diverse domains.

4. Here's the number one thing to never ever do in your resource box, and the one I see people trying to do the most, and that's trying to convince the reader in your resource box that you're the expert.

Now that sounds like a good use of a resource box. You want to list all your accomplishments and all your awards all the way back to first grade. But guess what, if you have not convinced the reader in your article that you're an expert, it is way too late to try to do so in the resource box.

They are probably not even going to be reading it anyway, because if you haven't demonstrated that you know what you're talking about in your article, it's very unlikely they're going to be reading your resource box.

Article Marketing - My Philosophy That Drives Me To Massive Article Marketing Success

Here's my philosophy on article marketing: The purpose of an article is to generate traffic. And it's very probable that more than half the visitors to an article don't even read it (though I hope you're not one of them!). Quality of your articles is important, and so is the quantity with which you write them and submit them!

When people click through on your articles, most will just click through to your site link in your resource box, decide to buy or optin or whatever it is, or just click away from your article. A very small percentage will even read your article. Maybe 1 in 10. That's 10 readers for every 100 visitors. And the title of an article is just as important than the content. You should be spending plenty of time crafting out a quality title.

I'd rather produce a good informative article that gets the point across than try to produce an article that will take hours to write. Some people have minds that race, and others can get in 30-50 words a minute. Some people have both. That's a lethal concoction for article marketing. If you can type very quickly and are already well versed in the topic, then you can crank out a 250-300 words article in 10 to 15 minutes without doing any research.

Most people write articles and when you read them, it reads like a textbook. You'd want to be conversational in your articles. Think about the most entertaining books you have read; more likely than not, the tone of the book was conversational. It was as if the author was sitting in a caf with you and having a lively discussion. That's how you want to write your articles!

Article Marketing and Your Resource Box - You Better Check Your Links if You Want the Full Benefit

Article writers get their articles kicked back for review all the time over this. I've even had some kickbacks when I've not been paying attention and not checked a link that I thought was good, and it was not. Something had just gone wrong in the last day and I didn't know it, so I was sending somebody to a link that was dead.

Make sure the links you put in there to your websites or blogs are live. Even if you've just been on that site that morning and you're writing an article in the afternoon, check the link.

It used to be that I taught that you want to have a clickable text link in your resource box, called an anchor text, like "Click here to..." or "Article Marketing Minute" would be highlighted.

You can still have one of those in your resource box, but what we've found is that many of the folks who have websites, newsletters and blogs that are using articles are not savvy enough to take the HTML code to make those clickable links back to their website, newsletter or blog and use them correctly, so it winds up a dead link. You don't want that.

You want to have at least one, maybe two, of what's called an 'absolute URL' in your resource box. Here's what an absolute URL is. It starts with http:// -- all the way to .com or the end of the domain and file name. So an absolute URL is the whole thing - http all the way to .com

Now that you know what an absolute URL is, and it's kind of a funky sound to it, 'absolute URL' - take it to the next party and see how many people know what an absolute URL is. It would be great conversation. Yeah, right.

Thus, it is vital that you continuously hone your writing skills to ensure that you will be able to deliver better articles each time you write.

3. Pick topics that are closely related to your products. Article Income Secrets - How to Build Your Information Empire With Your Articles

Article marketing is a great way to build your information empire. Whether you want a small information empire or a large information empire.

Now if you are one of the folks that tend to think at this point

"What do you mean, an information empire? I haven't even created my first product yet!"

just hang in there a minute. Let's start with your first product and see where this goes. You may want to build a large information empire or a teeny tiny information empire.

That part is up to you. I just want you to get it that you can.

From article to information product

Here are three products you can quickly create out of just about any article -

An ebook - Expand each point in your article into a chapter. If you have written a 7 tips article then this is really simple - you just create a chapter for each tip.

An ecourse - Take each point or tip in your article and make it one episode in an ongoing ecourse or eprogram. Send out an episode once a day or once a week.

A teleseminar - Take your article and use it as the basis for creating a teleseminar. You will say much more on your teleseminar than you will in your article so then you are writing more articles, just with your mouth and not with your hands.

From information product to information empire

Repeat the process above over and over again. Add other products like audio CDs, mp3s and home study courses.

Bonus Tip - Ask your clients what they want to know and then deliver it to them. Best Article Marketing - 4 Powerful Methods To Breakthrough With Article Marketing

Article marketing is undoubtedly one of the best and cost-effective marketing tools today. It is being used by millions of online entrepreneurs and webmasters from all points of the globe to increase their website's traffic, improve their page ranking, strengthen their online presence and credibility, and improve their sales and revenue.

Here are the 4 powerful methods to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Don't place your ads on your content. Blatant advertisements should not have a place in your articles as these can easily throw off online users and even publishers. To increase the chances of your articles being read and republish, focus on giving your readers quality information that they will find relevant and useful to their lives. Save your sales pitches for your resource box.

2. Do your research. To succeed in this marketing technique, you must offer your readers content-rich articles that offer complete, detailed information about the topics that they would love to learn about. You can do this by doing a research before you write your content. Check the internet or interview an expert on your chosen niche who can give you interesting side of every story that you write.

3. Be determined. In article marketing, determination and perseverance can take you a long way. Never give up even if you don't see noticeable change in your website's traffic after you have submitted 20-50 articles. Continue to write and distribute well-written and informative articles. Once people started to read and pick them up, you will enjoy not only huge traffic but impressive page ranking.

4. Submit to all article submission sites. To easily multiply the number of your inbound links, submit your article to all leading submission sites on a regular basis. Prioritize those which are frequented by online users and marketers like goarticles dot com and ezine articles dot com.

Internet Marketing in a Recession, Five Tips for Times of Economic Slowdown

The dollar is falling, oil is up, credit is more difficult to get and every time you turn on the TV, or go online you hear buzz about a pending recession. Sales and marketing managers are scratching their heads wondering how they will achieve budgeted sales figures.

Before you brush up on Brian Tracy personal selling techniques, look to how you are currently managing your existing resources. How are you currently allocating your marketing budget? What techniques are you using to gather lead generation? The scary question... gulp... when you gather a lead, do you know where it came from? Does your sales team follow up promptly? Do you let your leads go stall?

Before you look to readjust your sales figures, let's look at readjusting your current business practices and through the use of cost-effective SEM (search engine marketing) examine if a short-term focused pay per click (PPC) campaign can help.

1. What is a Conversion Worth?

Too often companies do not know how much a conversion is worth, or even how to define a conversion. If Internet marketing brings you a new customer and that new customer provide $X of incremental sales revenue, how much is it worth to acquire that sales lead? What percentage of sales leads convert to customers? How does this compare to other methods of lead generation?

Tip: In times of an economic slowdown, accountability is essential. It is important to know how much money a new customer is worth and how much it will cost to get that new customer. If a new customer provides $500 additional profit and it cost $200 to get that customer (cost per lead divided by call to action conversion rate), you would say that was a profitable venture.

2. Understand Web User Behavior.

What web analytics package are you currently using? When was the last time you sat down and reviewed you site's analytics? Understanding user behavior is critical. This is magnified in a short term sales cycle. What "call to actions" does your website hope to achieve from a user? How is this measured? For example, if your call to action is filling out a "contact us" form for example, how many individual users visited that form and what percentage filled out the form and arrived at a "thank you page?"

Tip: If you are not currently using an analytics page, Google offers a free program called Google Analytics. The analytics program is installed by adding a few lines of HTML script on your website's pages.

3. Where are your leads coming from?

Crazy as this may sound, many companies to this day do not fully grasp where a lead originated from. The most important part of web analytics is tracking and analyzing defined "call to action" situations. Advances in CRM systems have allowed the integration of defining a lead as coming from a particular Internet source (Salesforce.com does a good job of this integration)

4. PPC burst as a short term strategy.

Need a lot of visibility and are strapped for time? Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising should be on your list to things to do. Sites such as MSN, Yahoo!, Google and Business.com offer robust PPC packages that will help you target your audience and convert on your call to action requirements.

These campaigns function around bidding for a small text advertisement to display when a user types in a set of keywords. The concept is each time a user inputs a keyword phrase into a search engine he is looking to conduct business around that keyword. If a person is performing a search for the keyword "tax software," the implication is he is looking to potentially purchase a tax software solution.

5. Track PPC campaign.

Pay Per Click is one of the best short term strategies a company can use. PPC is something that needs to be monitored regularly by either by an in-house specialist or professional agency. The performance of your ads will help dictate how much you are willing to pay for a click. Tracking via web analytics can help ensure you are allocating enough resources to high performance keywords and not providing too many resources to keywords that are not producing a desirable conversion rate.

How does PPC fit into your overall marketing budget and strategy? It can become expensive long term, but as part of a balanced solution, PPC can provide the immediate results that you might not get through telesales, newsletters and tradeshows. A final consideration for companies looking to engage in a PPC campaign, test the usability of your website. Receiving double the traffic to your website is no different than becoming twice as efficient. In other words, your advertising dollar will go further when you direct users to pages that are easy to use, provide the information they are seeking and provide you with measurable call to action results.
